A story of mindful living

Hi, I'm Jazmine

Mother, gardener, herbalist and eager learner. Growing up, I never really thought about how my choices had an impact. I recycled and didn't litter, picked up trash sometimes but that was really it!

Not only do we have an impact on the land, but other people, my own health, and the future of existence as we know it.

Back in 2018, the "plastic free movement" got my attention. I made a lot of plastic free, more sustainable, swaps in my life but, I quickly learned just how deep our external + internal environments correlate.

Back in school my strong subjects were always earth science, biology, psychology and English. I always enjoyed learning about the world around us and inside of us.

I did the pre-requisites for nursing school while I was working full time as a medical sales rep. Between the world of medical sales where I worked with doctor offices, medical patients and insurance and the combined world of nursing school...I knew the modern day western health field wasn't for me.

Don't get me wrong, some advancements in medicine have been life saving and unlike no other. But the issue is the responsibility on the individual for their own health choices. Holistic healthcare aligns better.

I stayed at my medical sales job for another four years. "Building" my way up the corporate ladder, learning different areas of the business and making decent money with benefits that I was very thankful for. Coming from being a single mother of three kids, with no child support/physical support from their father, this job really helped me get on my feet.

But, before long I was experiencing burn out like no other and there didn't seem to be an end in sight. I was already living in more of the "conscious living" mindset my last two years at the job. I always tried  looking for the good and parts of the job to  be thankful for, but that didn't stop me from crying before walking into work almost daily. No matter how hard I tried to find the good, I still felt physically ill walking through the doors.

So now here we are 2021, and I am back to the main focus. The planets health, conscious living, and connecting back to the Earth to heal the soil and correlatively, ourselves.

I promise to provide sustainable + quality ingredients for both our land and our body. I promise to be open and honest in our products. I promise to be an ally for nature, humans and creatures of all.

I hope you find something here that helps you connect back to yourself, the person you were before the world told you who to be. Because if we just sit outside and sit with ourselves, we can all truly begin to heal.

Caring for ourselves is how we truly grow.

At this point I was already dabbling with herbalism, gardening + plants as a side business. I was learning, dreaming, growing a little bit here and there. I wasn't consistent or dedicating a lot of time, but I was moving and grooving.

So I proposed to my boyfriend that I quit my corporate job and start my business full time as a nursery + herbal shop. If you know him at all, you know that was a lot to process for him. Surprisingly, he obliged. I think because he really did see how miserable I was first hand.

So March 2020, two weeks before the USA coronavirus shutdown, I put in my two weeks notice at my corporate job of six years. If it wasn't fate, it was fate.

I grew mainly as a houseplant business and dabbled in selling a sustainable gardening course & merchandise items, and some herbal teas and other garden products.

As the year ended though, I realized houseplants weren't my passion. They weren't where my core mission and values were when I started Creating A New View.
